![]() I quite easily consume 3000 calories a day and upwards of 5000 on a really bad day.īasically, I would have to say yeah you just keep adding weight. In fact, one of the reasons I even stay that active (beyond the fact I love golf, bball, baseball, etc) is because I don't want to drastically change my diet and I would have to if I did not remain active. I stay at the weight I'm at, and body fat, b/c I eat horribly. My fitbit says I've burned about 8500 calories between yesterday and today and even if it overestimates by 10% I've still burned about 7500, which is a lot. I certainly don't work out like an athlete but I stay very active, more than most. During this period you will not gain much if any muscle and maybe even lose muscle while losing fat. Another con of this though is that you will now have to workout at a later time at a caloric deficiency to lose the extra weight you have gained. If done with 100% accuracy technically you would never need to cut, per se.Ī dirty bulk con is that you will gain a lot more fat than a clean bulk, however by over eating above you calculated caloric level you insure that you will gain muscle and won’t waste time in the gym. Thus you will lose less muscle/time spent losing fat rather than gaining muscle during your cut. Since you are gaining less fat using this method your cutting period should be shorter. ![]() You won’t build muscle because of the lack of calories, but if done right you will gain muscle and little to no fat. There are two theories of how this should be done.Ī clean bulk is when you try and calculate exactly how many calories your body requires to build muscle.Ī dirty bulk is when you eat a large surplus over what you have calculated to insure that your body has enough calories to build muscle.Ī clean bulks con is that if you don’t eat enough you will have ‘wasted’ time in the gym. Not exactly true, you just need to eat enough calories to cover the energy cost of building muscle.
